Mandatory winter equipment

From 1 November to 31 March, Savoie requires winter or all-season tyres with the 3PMSF symbol, or snow chains or snow socks carried in the car.

On winter Saturdays the RN90 between Albertville and Moûtiers gets jammed: the drive often takes twice as long. Leave early or check road conditions first.
